I'm an engineer by trade, apprenticed as a toolmaker in an aircraft Company and after working for several different firms I eventually wormed my way into the design office and today I work for a local Company designing aicraft interiors, using Computer-Aided-Design (CAD). I've always been a practical sort of guy, a DIY type and I have been a woodcarver for many years having been introduced to the "Ringwood Woodcarvers" at Ellingham show, where I talked to Peter Wheeler and eventually joined them. Several years later Pete brought some of his sticks to our woodcarving group and I decided to have a go. I have been helping Peter to run the group for a few years now and with our Committee we organise a progressive and well known club in the South of England. We encourage all our members to join the BSG and we have close links with them via Charlie Walker, who is a Committee member of both groups. Along with the Ringwood Woodcarvers we attend one or two local shows and I usually have a few walking sticks and craft items available for sale, if you require something a bit special please contact me and if I haven't got what you need I probably know someone who has. |
